In this article, the CDC Workplace Health and Resource Center recognizes well-being as people’s ability to handle and work through everyday stresses and problems while still functioning optimally. Health is essential to employees’ highest potential performance. Research tells us that when employees’ quality of life is optimal, it can indicate a lower risk of illness, disease, and injury, as well as higher performance at work and more contributions to their community.

With this information in mind, organizations are making an effort towards additional benefits for employees like public appreciation, paid time off policies, more access to opportunities and resources, etc.
