Debra Lafler, Wellness and EAP Manager for Wisconsin Department of Health Services, has created a survey for a research project linked to NWI’s High-Level Wellness Through Multicultural Competency Certificate course.
The survey is created for respondents who are BIPOC—Black, Indigenous, and People of Color—and focuses on three dominant cultural biases in wellness: nutrition, physical activity, and weight/body image.
The survey questions state the dominant culture’s perspective on the issues, and then ask those who identify themselves as part of a non-dominant culture to share how these perspectives resonate with them, asking for suggestions on how to make programs more diverse and inclusive of their culture(s).
